Bernd is both a hapless and dyspeptic little fellow who regards the foibles of our world with mocking disbelief. He is magically placed in situations which he doesn't understand and with which he can not cope. We do not understand everything, and very likely we have the wrong interpretation in places, but here is our take.
This sequence begins with Bernd in his shower, suddenly accosted by a magician. Was machst du im meine dusche? he says What are you doing in my shower. Das is nene-that is new--but neither amusing nor raving--Then he asks the viewer wouldn't you rather be watching a program on the beautiful corners of Germany or something--
Bernd gets magically transported --es geht galaktisch --to the set of star trek
He is told that if he is to become ein uebertrekkie (super trekkie) , he must describe how a beamer works. He has no idea. But a guy in a red shirt appears and tortures him with a ray gun. He is asked again--ummmm--the red shirt appears and Bernd does his best--he goes houii, houii, and he talks fast like a politician in the same state until he spies an ape approaching--he knows the red shirt is for it and finishes his discussion of the beamer with----`mister rot hemd finds the planet to be very dangerous as the ape takes him away. Then he turns to the audience--you want to see how a beamer works--Scottie beam es weg--whereupon he gets a red shirt and the ape returns--poor Bernd.
He reappears watching young nerds play `dungeons and dragons'. He is amazed as they use their magical charms to thwart the imagined dragon. He thinks that youth should be up to something less boring.
They are all then transported to the `real world' and Bernd is adopted as a kind of magician. He thinks that role playing outside the house is silly but then--
a real dragon appears and blows them all away.
He reappears in another cliche--star wars
here is the famous question `Where am I?'--Wo bin ich (pronounced 'voe bin ish')
He is tortured with some ray or other
Was denn? But finds that he likes it. Then after some misleading directions to the good guys who pass by--the ship is destroyed.
He finds himself in a blank space
I can't communicate all of the humour but here the narrator tells him he is in a wallpaper museum --a collection of wall papers that have persisted through history--by now he has seen everything and he says laufende tappete 'running wallpaper museum' sch\"on lovely he says.
He accepts a drink from the narrator
He is asked whether he would like to be the leader of the wallpaper fan club--In the beginning he has said that `Ich bin ein fan von gar nichts' I am not a fan of anything--but now he is tempted and presto
chief idiot
after enjoying his status with bows and danke --he is identified as a NERD.
He joins all of the other NERDS that he has met en route and now there is nothing for it but a NERD party
which ends with a bang and the cycle begins again (the loop plays over and over again with no breaks). In the process I left out his conversion to a fan of Harry Potter--all major themes are covered.
Here he has no idea of Harry Potter and he hates magic.

However he learns to do magic --eenie, meenie met zauber das brot weg--takes him to strange places- and then with the wand he casts spells in all directions--but a problem never really dealt with by J K Rowling --the spells don't stop if they miss anything --his eyes are following the spells as they circle and return to him--bang and thence onward. The humour is in the expression and mainly this painful presentation is to remind us of how much fun we had attaching meaning to the expressions.
